was started in 1988 by the Sri Siddhartha Educational Society (SSES). The college was earlier affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. In 2008, Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education was declared deemed to be University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. SSMC Tumkur and Sri Siddhartha Dental College have been functioning as constituent college of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education.

Admission Eligibility:

Students seeking admission to this college must be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Students with a minimum of 50 percent in science subjects, including biology or biotechnology, as well as Physics and Chemistry, are eligible (in the case of SC/ST students, 40 percent in board examinations; 45 percent for OBC students). Infrastructure:

This medical college is located in Bangalore, the state capital of Karnataka. The College’s campus is 350 acres in size and is surrounded by lush vegetation. There are 21 structures totaling 73 875 square metres. The project is estimated to cost roughly Rs. 20 crores, including furnished apartments for staff. Pre- and post-clinical departments have their own facilities, as well as a big library and information centre and the SSMC Hospital. A new salon is being built with the most up-to-date facilities. The Institute is equipped with all of the latest amenities required by the university. About Hospital:

The campus hospital has 760 beds that are distributed among the various medical departments, including a paediatrics ward with 90 beds, a general medicine ward with 150 beds, an orthopaedic ward with 90 beds, an ophthalmology and ENT department with 30 beds, and an obstetrics and gynaecology ward with 100 beds. Balance beds are assigned to the several departments. Orthopedics has 90 beds. There are a total of 12 surgery theatres accessible, including ten main and two minor ones. The critical care unit, which includes the ICCU, ICU, NICU, PICU, and SICU, is equipped with advanced technology and has more than 40 beds. These are equipped with advanced radiological capabilities.
